About DietTree

Pregnancy is a journey full of advice, opinions, and overwhelm. Most apps respond by adding calorie counters, macronutrient dashboards, and complicated health metrics.

DietTree is built on an intentionally simpler premise: when you walk into your kitchen at 8:30 AM or 4:30 PM, you shouldn’t have to calculate grams or log points. You just need to know:

“What can I eat right now that is comforting, nourishing, and safe for my baby and me?”

We focus specifically on familiar, nutrient-rich Indian meals—from comforting idlis, wholesome dals, and soft theplas to nourishing bedtime milk—organized as a gentle daily tree that flows along with your day.

Conservative Food Safety in Pregnancy

To keep you and your baby safe from foodborne microbes and unnecessary risks, we recommend these conservative kitchen practices:

Thoroughly Cooked Eggs & Poultry

Eggs should be boiled or cooked until both yolk and white are solid. Chicken and fish must be thoroughly cooked with no pink meat or raw center.

Pasteurized Dairy Only

Only drink pasteurized milk, and eat curd or paneer made from pasteurized milk. Avoid raw, unpasteurized dairy products and soft mold-ripened cheeses.

Steam or Cook All Sprouts

Warm, moist sprouting environments foster bacteria. Always steam or boil sprouted lentils, moong, and beans before eating; do not eat them raw.

Avoid Raw Papaya

Unripe, green, or semi-ripe papaya contains high amounts of latex/papain. Only fully ripe, sweet yellow-orange papaya is safe in moderation, or choose citrus/apples if uncertain.

Wash Produce Thoroughly

Wash all fruits, vegetables, and culinary herbs under running tap water to remove soil residue, toxoplasma, or surface pesticides.

Limit Caffeine & Avoid High-Mercury Fish

Keep tea or coffee to 1-2 small cups daily (under 200mg caffeine). Choose small freshwater fish or pomfret, avoiding high-mercury predatory fish.
